OPENING RECEPTION: "The Most Important Ideas Ever" 4/15/11 12:00PM-01:00PM
"The Most Important Ideas Ever" is the permanent art exhibition within the Our Last Symposium space. It features the works of sixteen high school art students from Sturgis, Michigan. These students were charged to capture anything they felt would deserve preservation despite global annihilation and human extinction. Stored deep underground, in the warm core of the earth these ideas will survive into the next millennia. Scientists worked around the clock to construct the most advanced space craft ever built. Aboard this vessel these studentē“ precious cargo will leave our planetē“ destruction far behind and carry our humanity to the outer reaches of eternity. Even if these works never again encounter living beings our totality will endure if only in spirit; if only in warning.
